Israeli phosphorus bombing hits populated areas in southern Lebanon
Today (Sunday), Lebanese media reported that the Israeli phosphorus bombardment of populated areas of a city in southern Lebanon was the most violent since the events began.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported today that “the city of Kafr Kila is subjected to violent enemy shelling and phosphorus shelling on populated areas, the most violent since the events began.” He underlined that “hostile shelling was renewed on the outskirts of Labouneh and Naqoura”, stressing that “enemy warplanes carried out an air strike in the Al-Kharza area in the city of Aita Al-Shaab, near the houses” .
For its part, the Lebanese Hezbollah announced that it had targeted Israeli positions on the border and struck them directly, underlining that “the sites of Al-Marj, Jal Al-Alam, Al-Dhahira, the tip of Al-Jardah and enemy positions, positions and ambushes in Khallet Wardah were targeted and directly hit.”
In a similar context, Alfa, the company that manages mobile telephone networks in Lebanon, announced today (Sunday) that one of its stations was subjected to an Israeli shelling in the Marjayoun district, which caused the interruption of service towards the southern areas.
The Alpha company said, in a press release reported today by the National News Agency: “The main Muhaybib station in the Marjayoun district was partially destroyed following the Israeli bombing to which it was subjected”, and added that “this station in turn powers the (Alfa) stations of Mays al-Jabal and Dibiya.” Hayyan, Haula and Markab, which led to the failure of the six stations and disruption of service to entire areas powered by these stations.”
