Nick Fury, head of the government organization SHIELD, assembles a group of extraordinary people to protect the Earth – the Avengers. The team consists of super-soldier Steve Rogers (Captain America), armored genius Tony Stark (Iron Man), god Thor, shapeshifting scientist Bruce Banner (Hulk), and SHIELD agents Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Clint Barton (Hawkeye). When the evil god Loki (half-brother of Thor) threatens the planet, the Avengers will have to face him.
