Last month the national animation studio Soyuzmultfilm celebrated its 85th anniversary. In honor of the anniversary, the company launched a poll to find out which of the studio’s many characters are most loved by viewers.
The first place in the resulting rating by a large margin was taken by the hero of the cartoon series “Prostokvashino” Kot Matroskin. 23% of respondents voted for the charismatic anthropomorphic cat. The second place was shared between Winnie the Pooh and the Wolf from the cartoons “Well, wait a minute!” (his “colleague” in the cartoon Hare was not included in the top ten most popular cartoon characters). They turned out to be the studio’s favorite cartoon characters for 9% of respondents each. The fourth and fifth places were taken by the Hedgehog from the cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog” with 8% and Kitten Woof from the cycle “Kitten named Woof” with 7%. In addition, Cheburashka, Parrot Kesha, Carlson and Mowgli were included in the top 10 most beloved cartoon characters of Soyuzmultfilm.
The studio also asked the respondents to choose the most popular of their new animation projects. The victory was again won by the animated series “Prostokvashino”, for which 85% of the respondents voted. However, 67% of them noted that they like the Soviet cartoon series more.
Let us remind you that the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio was opened on June 10, 1936. During its work, the company has released more than one and a half thousand animated films in various techniques and genres.
