The Community of Madrid opens a new international vaccination center at the Mostoles Public Hospital

Up to 1,500 appointments are expected to be offered in the first year of the campaign, with medical and nursing consultations available to applicants, who will receive personalized attention based on their health status and travel destinations.

Therefore, users are provided with information and health education, a comprehensive assessment of the medical risks associated with international travel, mandatory and recommended vaccinations, and, if necessary, prophylaxis (oral prophylaxis against certain diseases, such as malaria).

For the most vulnerable groups (infants and young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with disabilities, immunosuppressed people or people with pre-existing medical conditions), we will have a more detailed clinical assessment and specific recommendations for each of them.

The most commonly used vaccines at centers such as Mostoles Public Hospital are those against yellow fever, hepatitis A and B, and typhoid. Once provided, travelers will receive an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis, officially proving that they have received it.

Likewise, one of the most important goals of medical and nursing consultations is to provide practical information on food hygiene practices (relating to food and drink), preventive measures to reduce the effects of certain environmental situations (e.g. high altitude, exposure to vector organisms). Transmission of many infectious diseases (mosquitoes, ticks), sudden changes in humidity, high UV radiation, etc.

Network of centers of the Autonomous Community of Madrid

The International Network of Vaccination Centers in Madrid is coordinated by the Directorate-General for Public Health of the Ministry of Health.
