The creators of Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures would like to release a game based on “Day of the Dead” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street”

The publication IGN communicates with Will Doyle from the studio Supermassive Games is. The journalists asked the head of the development of the cinematic horror The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes about which films inspire his work and what works his team would like to work with in the future.

Doyle immediately referred to the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street movie series. According to the developer, the story of Freddy Krueger fits well with the concept of interactive horror – the villain itself is very charismatic, and the connection to the world of dreams would allow Supermassive to implement interesting ideas and techniques, such as dynamically changing locations.

Will Doyle also mentioned Day of the Dead directed by George Romero. The developer admitted that he was deeply impressed by the violent scenes after watching this film as a child, and is still fascinated by the aesthetics of traditional zombie horror.

The worldwide premiere of House is of the Ashes, a third independent game studio from the horror anthology of The Dark Pictures will take place on October 22, 2021. The horror of monsters hiding in the sands will be released on PC and all current PlayStation and Xbox consoles .
