The producers of The Expendables foresee the possibility of a new feature-length action film, but only if one condition is met.
(Un)adventure Mercenaries – The Expendables they may not mean the end Mercenary Saga. A fifth film this could be achieved, but on one condition.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, The Expendables producers Kevin King-Templeton and Les Weldon spoke about the latest chapter of the action film, summing up the situation. This will be the last chapter for Sylvester Stallone, the star will pass the baton to his colleague Jason Statham, who could continue the franchise, but only if the public demands it. “As long as there is an appetite… nothing is ruled out”– said King-Templeton. “We don’t know if there will be more chapters, it will depend on the audience.”

For Stallone’s Barney Ross, this will be his last adventure. With his departure, the only veterans of the entire franchise, which began in 2010 with the first Expendables – The Expendables – still active, will be Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture. However, they were joined by the younger Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and 50 Cent, opening up new possibilities for the story. As the producers explain, “The new entrants have taken the burden of the franchise off the shoulders of the old stars. We had to make some changes because the cast is aging. We evolved, we used Jackie Chan’s stunt team, so in the fights you feel a lot of martial arts influence.”
I mercen4ri – “The Expendables” in Italian cinemas from September 21 will also see the explosive presence of Megan Fox. The new official synopsis for the film reads: “The Expendables – original and new – are on a mission again. This time the target is Gaddafi’s old chemical weapons site in Libya. They must intercept Suharato Rahmat, who is running an operation to steal detonators for nuclear devices on behalf of his evil client Ocelot.”
