Film based on the famous board game Monopoly it’s a project that doesn’t seem to want to see the light of day. First announced in 2015, the film went through several changes and was shelved to suggest that the project was abandoned. But, apparently, this is not so.
Today’s news, according to Variety, concerns the sale Entertainment Odin (eOne), a film and television production and distribution company that owns the rights to Monopoly and to Lionsgate, a major Hollywood studio. The sale has a signature Hasbro
multinational games and toys company that already acquired eOne in 2019 for a good four billion dollars (real money, not play money).Lionsgate paid One half a billion dollars to win eOne, thus gaining access to a huge catalog of intellectual property, including Monopoly.
Variety confirms that the project to make the film is still alive and that Kevin Hart and his production company Hart Beat Productions.
Therefore, it can be said that, except for unforeseen events (or probabilities), the film will be made.
