The first photos of 41 workers trapped under rubble for 9 days have been published.

The first pictures have been published from inside of 41 workers trapped in the tunnel that collapsed under construction in India for 9 days.

In the state of Uttarakhand, rescue efforts have been continuing for days for 41 workers who were trapped when part of the tunnel under construction collapsed during road work. The authorities stopped rescue work after they discovered that the drilling machine was damaged by the cracking sound coming from inside the tunnel during work over the weekend.

While rescue teams continued their work after their new machines arrived in the area, the first images of workers struggling to survive under the collapsed tunnel for several days sparked excitement in the country. The workers were seen standing in a small area and talking to rescue teams.

The workers are supplied with oxygen, medicines and food through tubes. On the other hand, the fact that some workers under the rubble are suffering from health problems and that rescue efforts are taking longer, raises concern.

The teams are trying to dig an area 60 meters underground with drilling machines from which workers can crawl, but work is progressing slowly due to fears of a new collapse in the tunnel.

Officials stated that the workers tried to maintain their health in the darkness and cramped wreckage by sleeping, doing yoga and talking frequently, and that their morale was good.
