Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo’s China mobile phone division, said on his Weibo that Lenovo will release its flagship mobile phone by the end of this year. Sources confirm that Lenovo will be the first company to launch a smartphone-based on the Snapdragon 895 SoC.
So far, little is known about the new single-chip system. Nobody knows for sure if it will be called Snapdragon 895 or Snapdragon 898. According to previously leaked information, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 895 mobile platform will receive new Cortex-V9 Kryo 780 cores, as well as an Adreno 730 GPU. Compared to Snapdragon 888, the performance increase will be very tangible.
In the past few years, the first company to launch smartphones on Qualcomm’s new flagship platforms is Xiaomi. So when rumors of the Snapdragon 895 began to surface, it was speculated that the first phone based on the new platform would be the Xiaomi Mi 12.
According to the latest reports, Lenovo has significantly improved its partnerships with Qualcomm, but before the announcement, no one can say for sure if this company will receive an exclusive window for using the Snapdragon 895 in its smartphones.
