The Flash: Movie Review by Andy Muschietti with Two Barrys

glitter picks up a few years after the events of Justice League, The superhero team is now a well-oiled machine, but Barry Allen just has to ‘make up’ for their loss. He also refers to himself as the “watchman of the Justice League”.

Even his greatest successes, like the bizarre opening scene in which the Flash saves an entire hospital wing full of newborns, barely get him public acclaim. Add to that the pressures of his day job as a forensic investigator and dwindling personal wealth, Barry feels like a lost cause.

And then there’s the impending appeal to her father, Henry (Ron Livingston, who replaces Billy Crudup), convicted of the murder of Barry’s mother. Evidence discovered by Barry and Bruce Wayne (ben affleck) are not sufficient to exonerate him.

In the throes of depression, Barry then does what he always does: running away. But this time he runs so fast that he goes back in time. Realizing that he has the power to save his mother, Barry travels back in time to his childhood, altering events to save her life. But on his journey back to the present, Barry becomes trapped in the recent past.

Worse, his actions created an alternate timeline where he never gained powers, Superman never crashed to Earth, and Bruce Wayne looks like Michael Keaton,

Now with General Rashi (Michael Shannonreluctant once again) that threatens to destroy the planet, Barry must figure out how to stop the alien invader – and the answer may lie in a mysterious Kryptonian taken prisoner somewhere in Russia (a Sasha Calle basically useless and unused).

The Flash darts through his thicket An admirable energy and never loses its rhythm, until it suddenly decides to stop during the dramatic final fight, This was largely due to screenwriter Christina Hodson (birds of prey), which he manages to make an emotionally honest origin storyAlso including all the twists, cameos and ‘multiversal jokes’ of the case.

The Flash is based on famous story arcs flashpoint by DC Comics, which used a timeline-altering story to reset comic book canon. The film was supposed to do the same for the DCEU, which is now definitely in trouble. The Flash attempts to pass off an unbelievable premise (which is based heavily on the events of man of Steel of 2013), offer a rush of nostalgia after another In a way so blatantly transparent it’s almost offensive – though there’s no denying the endorphin rush that comes with Michael Keaton’s return as Batman alongside the classic Danny Elfman theme.

Michael Keaton is certainly a fascinating character, slipping back into the role with ease and providing solid support to Ezra Miller’s manic double performance. But when the 71-year-old tells his old joke from the past batman With the languid look of the 89 and a sound that certainly doesn’t believe it, one can’t help but feel a bit along for the ride.

Does this make The Flash harder to watch? In many ways, yes. But, surprisingly, Ezra Miller is one of the best parts of The Flash, Barry is the clear emotional anchor of the film, driving its central narrative of sadness. Yet despite the success of the protagonist’s story arc, it has been tarnished by the hypocrisy of the star’s real-life actions.

it all ends An engrossing film that’s ultimately so light it feels weightless, The moments of honest emotion fail to compensate for the hodgepodge of multiversal cameos and the weight of ‘canon’. It’s been a long wait and a bumpy road for The Flash. But it wasn’t worth it.
