Following his recent return in Season 3, Amy Sedaris shares her thoughts on Peli Motto’s future on The Mandalorian. Sedaris made his Star Wars series debut in Season 1 in the episode “The Gunslinger”, where he ran a ship repair station at Mos Eisley on Tatooine and repaired Razor Crest while Pedro Pascal’s Mando took the shape of Ming-Na. tried to collect. Fennec Shand of Wayne. Initially well received for his comedic contributions, Pelly has become a somewhat divisive character with his subsequent appearances in the Motto Mandalorian series and The Book of Boba Fett.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant to talk about her new ad campaign for Hillshire Farm, Amy Sedaris was asked about the future of her character Peli Moto in Star Wars. While she didn’t reveal specific plans for the character, she expressed her love for working on the series and how she thinks the Tatooine mechanic character could return. Below is Sedaris’ response:
“It’s so fun, that series, I’ll tell you I really enjoy working on it. There’s something I love about Peli that doesn’t change. In Boba Fett, he leaves his workshop and You saw him in the outside world, which was almost exciting. But I also like people who don’t give up on their environment, I like that sometimes things don’t change, the action comes from him and Mando has to be his need to fix the ship or something. I like my area, like men who grill outside, they like to be next to the barbecue. What they do for the whole party, they watch the grill, people come and talk to them, but it’s like, “Don’t bother, I’ve got work to do.” Peli’s like that for me. Oh, wow, everybody (the characters), get them over here. Seeing many of them Very weird. But in a way, I like that there’s no surprise, just Mando and a little Grogu. (Laughs) But if one of them shows up on my set for a week, it’s trick-or-treating. It’ll be like treating.
Making his debut in the Mandalorian series, Pelli Moto became a fan favorite, with Sedaris himself becoming a trending topic on Twitter following his appearance on the show. In addition to Sedaris’ sense of humor, critics and audiences alike were impressed by Pelly’s maternal care of Grug during Mando’s mission and her unique appearance, which is often compared to Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley in Alien.
Despite this early love, Pelly has become one of the most divisive characters in the Star Wars universe on Disney+, mostly due to her appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. While the Mandalorian spin-off series showcased his prowess as a mechanic and fighter, his mediocre writing and lack of interest in the comic books drew unfortunate comparisons to one of the saga’s most infamous characters, Jar Jar Binks.
While The Mandalorian Season 3 continued the show’s positive reception, it featured divisive elements outside of Peli Motto, namely the appearance of Jack Black and Lizzo in Episode 6. However, Sedaris’ character appeared only in episodes 2 and up with the fourth season. And with a Mandalorian movie in the works, hopefully Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau will listen to audience feedback and find a way to restore Peli to her former glory that audiences fell in love with at the beginning of the Star Wars epic.
