The GOP’s leading candidate for North Carolina governor has a history of disparaging successful women.

North Carolina GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson has a long history propaganda of conspiracy theories.

It turns out he has a long history of humiliating successful women.

Robinson, who is currently the state’s lieutenant governor and leading Republican candidate For governor, he left out nearly two dozen women who are public figures in politics and entertainment.

A review of his Facebook posts over the years shows that he frequently makes offensive and disgusting comments about prominent women, including former first lady Michelle Obama, singer Taylor Swift and Vice President Kamala Harris.

This is just Robinson’s attack on women in politics. He also made disparaging comments about many women in the entertainment industry.

• Alyssa Milano. He called her a “Hollywood idiot” and in the same post called Hollywood “a cesspool of drunks, drug addicts, hypocritical leftists, pedophiles and rapists.”

• Ashley Judd. He posted a meme accusing actress Judd of “trading sex for an Oscar,” which the meme said “is not rape.” It’s actually more like prostitution.”

• Beyonce. He said that Beyoncé is “teaching our young women to be hypersexual whores” and that “SHE IS NOT A SINGER!!!!! #shesabootyshaker.”

• Halle Berry, Mariah Carey and Issa Rae: He commented on their outfits, saying that they “dressed in see-through, very tight, breasted whore dresses to protest sexual harassment.”

• Cardi B. He stated that “the stench of obscenity that Americans smell does not come from Pepe Le Pew,” the cartoon skunk from Warner Brothers cartoons, but instead comes from the “trash filth that Cardi B displays.”

Robinson also denounced women in professional sports.

HuffPost reached out to Robinson—both his campaign and his state government office—to ask why the lieutenant governor publicly attacked and humiliated so many successful women for years.

No office responded.

Robinson’s baggage is clearly worrying some leading Republicans in North Carolina, who are reportedly rallying behind a new candidate – wealthy businessman and lawyer Bill Graham – to become their party’s leader for governor. Graham, who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2008, entered the race Wednesday and is pledging to spend millions of dollars of his own money.

He joins a crowded GOP primary along with Robinson and four other conservative candidates, including former U.S. Rep. Mark Walker and Dale Falwell, the state treasurer. Josh Stein, who is currently the state’s attorney general, is the leading Democratic contender for governor.

Democrats have held the governorship for decades despite it being a swing state. The current government. Roy Cooper is term limited in 2024.

HuffPost previously spoke with political analysts in North Carolina to understand how Robinson, with his dangerous conspiracy theories and vile attacks on women, became the GOP favorite for governor. By all accounts, he has two things that other GOP candidates don’t: name recognition and support for Trump.

“He personifies the GOP culture war,” said Stephen Green, a political science professor at North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

Greene predicted that if Robinson did become the Republican nominee, he would lose the general election in 2024.

“Since the rise of Trump, we have seen Republican primary voters, again and again and again and again, choose a candidate who is a terrible general election candidate in a purple state,” he said.

“My guess is that Mark Robinson will fall into that pattern.”
