“The Jennifer Hudson Show” returns for its second season on Monday after delaying its premiere due to the WGA strike, which officially ended earlier this week.
The host will welcome guests including Gwen Stefani, Niallah Horan, Taye Diggs and Cedric the Entertainer to the daytime talk show’s first week on the air.
After the delay of the first premiere, scheduled for Monday, September 9. On Jan. 18, the host joins a slew of other daytime talk shows wrapping up production after the writers’ strike ended, including “The Drew Barrymore Show,” which is expected to return in October. Before delaying its start date, The Jennifer Hudson Show was criticized by striking writers who felt the decision to return without WGA staff was detrimental to the strike.
On Monday, Hudson will be joined by superfan couple Tracy and Pat Jean-Baptiste after a special appearance on their wedding day, and then host philanthropist Tiare Lawrence to discuss the devastating fires that devastated Lahaina, Hawaii.
Next up are “The Voice” coaches Stefani and Horan, who will come on the show Tuesday to talk about Season 24 of the NBC competition show, which will feature Reba McEntire as the new coach replacing Blake Shelton.
The second half of the week will feature several celebrities from the worlds of sports and entertainment, including Diggs, who will appear on the show on Wednesday, October 5 to talk about his new podcast, “You Had Me At Hello.” On Thursday, Cedric the Entertainer will share stories from his debut novel. “Flipping Boxcars,” and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will join Hudson on Friday’s episode.
The second season of The Jennifer Hudson Show, produced by JHUD Productions and Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, in association with Telepictures, will air on Fox Television Stations, Hearst Television, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Tegna, Nexstar Media Group, Scripps Media and Gray Media Group. , among the others.
Hudson serves as EP alongside Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner, Corey Palent, Graham Morphy and Walter Williams III, with Lani Griffin serving as co-executive producer.
