In anticipation of the opening of the eightieth edition at the Lido, let’s walk the red carpets of the past to discover many unforgettable looks together.
In the Lido, the engines are warming up, or rather, the searchlights. The next one will start on August 3080th edition from International Film Festivaland the red carpet will be filled with celebrities in their best looks. This year’s edition, which has seen notable deserters and programmatic changes due to the strikes that are plaguing the film industry in the US, promises to be full of famous faces, and as we waited for it to begin, we thought we’d take you on a journey into the past.
So, let’s go back about twenty years to see together what were the most memorable looks that once walked the red carpet of the Venetian Lido; It will be fun to see yesterday’s and today’s stars in completely different clothes, watching how the gala style par excellence has evolved.
So let’s start right with 23 years ago and from one Sharon Stone animal clothes, to then continue, always in the early 2000s, with one Monica Belluccialready the face and body of unmistakable creations Dolce & Gabbana. Issues during the early years of the new millennium were marked by ultra-feminine mermaid dresses, with or without bustier straps, as is the case with Nicole Kidmanor with a high waistline, as is the case with sienna Miller AND Keira Knightley.
There is a dress Valentine wore Alek Wekmemorable in that it is adorned with the word “peace” in 14 different languages, and there is a brightness Versace metallic and shiny, with the craftsmanship of Charlize Theron.
The next decade opens up for experimentation, red tones on red (red carpet) chosen by Alba Rohrwacher and Diane Krugerto midi length and feathers that adorn not only dresses, but also the cuffs of a white shirt paired with a skirt, a broken formula that, in recent releases, has gained great success in Venice.
And in the latter, hide-and-seek effects are also noted, in jewelry for Dakota Johnson or painted in nude with Zendaya (V Balmain what appears to be sculpted right on top of it), and surreal games such as the appearance Balenciaga seen on Taylor Russell in 2022. In an energetic green, short but long maxi dress in front, paired with tight black stockings and long white gloves.
If red carpet desire is starting to kick in, satisfy it immediately with our favorite looks from the latest editions of the Venice Film Festival, which you can find below.
