Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures Release Godzilla x Kong Teaser Announcing Full Title for Upcoming Monsterverse Film

The first teaser of the new Monsterverse film reveals the full title of the project, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empireand sees King Kong sitting on a throne surrounded by skulls and bones. The film, which will be released in March 2024, is directed by Adam Wingard (Godzilla vs. Kong, Blair Witch

), written by Simon Barrett and performed by Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens, Fala Chen And Rachel House.

The synopsis of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire reads: “This latest chapter in the Monsterverse franchise follows the explosive showdown between Godzilla and King Kong in an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty gorilla and the fearsome monster against a colossal unknown. hidden threat in our world, challenging their very existence – and ours. The new epic film will delve into the stories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island, while unveiling the mythical battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and bound them to humanity forever”.

Godzilla x Kong and the Monsterverse

The Monsterverse, a shared cinematic universe featuring monsters like Godzilla, King Kong, Mothra and more, began in 2014 with Godzilladirected by Gareth Edwards, with Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen. Kong: Skull Island, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and starring Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston And Samuel L. Jackson, followed in 2017 by a sequel of Godzilla, Godzilla: King of the Monsters directed by Michael Dougherty and starring Vera Farmiga

arrived in 2019.

In 2021, the Monsterverse has broken out in Godzilla vs. Kong. Along with the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirea television series set in the same universe is currently in the works on Apple TV+. The Untitled Series “will follow a family’s journey to discover their buried secrets and a legacy that connects them to the secret organization known as Monarch”. Chris Black and Matt Fraction created the series, with Fraction serving as showrunner. Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell And Mari Yamamoto they’ll all appear on the show, which doesn’t yet have an official release date.
