The Risaralda Health Secretariat carries out the work of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Committee, the central theme of which is viral hepatitis associated with sexually transmitted infections, which is addressed in terms of the behavior of the disease and how to manage these events from the clinical aspect.
Carol Tatiana Colorado Barrios, head of the Sexual Transmission Program of the Secretariat of Health in Risaralda, believes that the purpose of these spaces is to update health personnel on the management, diagnosis and treatment of this disease and training to avoid an increase in cases and take steps to detect the disease early.
“This day we had the opportunity to discuss the information systems sent to national and regional entities related to hepatitis, and speakers from Bogota and Cali explained to us clinical practice guidelines and protocols to consider issues regarding hepatitis B. and diagnostic management and treatment of hepatitis C, which is to provide timely and effective care,” explained a spokesperson for the Risaralda Health Secretariat.
Within the framework of the day, there was also an update on how to conduct visits, advice and technical assistance related to sexually transmitted infections, and a workshop was held to provide guidelines for taking the first approach. and questions about clinical practice guidelines for the care of patients with hepatitis and HIV.
The event was attended by the health directorates of the 12 municipalities of Risaralda, the health secretariats of Pereira and Dosquebradas, clinical laboratories and public and private health entities.
