The second season of Yellowjackets available on Paramount+

Finally the wait is over. Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated series premieres Wednesday, April 12 on Paramount+® YELLOWJACKETS. Season 1 earned rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and received seven Emmy nominations®. YELLOWJACKETS is produced by studio Entertainment One (eOne).

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of highly talented high school soccer players who become the unfortunate survivors of a plane crash in the remote wilderness of the north.

The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to a savage clan, while also following the lives they tried to put back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really the past and that what is started in the wilderness is far from finished.

In Season 2, it’s been two months since Shauna gave Jackie the sack, with disastrous results. In the face of growing hunger and fear, the tension only increases. The harsh conditions of winter intensify day by day and the psyche of the survivors deteriorates just as quickly. Threatened by the darkness of the wilderness – and its haunting memories in the present – the former champions will be forced to make impossible decisions. As they face the horrific truth of what survival entails, the real nightmare for each of them will be figuring out who they are and what they’re willing to sacrifice to stay alive.

Survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, YELLOWJACKETS stars Emmy nominee® and Critics Choice Award winner Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Academy Award® and Emmy nominee Juliette Lewis (Camping), Emmy nominee Christina Ricci (Z: First of All) and Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable).

Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Servant) and Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) have also joined the second season of the series, along with Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) in a story arc that will last one season. Season 2 also stars Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Sophie Thatcher (Prospect), Samantha Hanratty (SHAMELESS), Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road), Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet), Steven Krueger (The Originals), Warren Kole (Shades of Blue) and Kevin Alves. Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and fellow showrunner Jonathan Lisco are executive producers. Creative Engine’s Drew Comins is also executive producing along with Ameni Rozsa, Sarah L. Thompson and Karyn Kusama who directed the pilot episode.
