The star looks we like? The elegant and “bold” ones like Katy Perry in total white Alessandro Vigilante.

Once upon a time there was an obsession with the big names in fashion and there wasn’t an actress, singer or musician who didn’t dream of wearing looks designed by the most famous stylists at any social event, from the Oscars to the Grammys to the Met Gala, passing through gala evenings, parties and charity dinners, concerts. The allure of the great fashion houses remains, but the new generation of stylists and brands is making its way, not only in the wardrobes of fashion lovers but also on the red carpet and on the most important occasions, worn by celebrities who, with the accomplices of the most forward-thinking stylists , find new names to collaborate with for unexpected and fresh looks. So the day after any occasion are animated not only by “who dressed who and with what look” but also by “did you know that brand?”.

On the occasion of the inaugural event for the first episode of American Idol edition number 21, Katy Perry wore an Alessandro Vigilante total look from the fall winter 2023 2024 collection. Relaxed trousers with wool banana leg, top with the iconic V-neck by Vigilante, a cropped blazer in curly fleece, the look is the quintessence of the style of the designer with a past as a dancer: in the garments worn by the star and shared by herself in some backstage shots from her hotel room, there is the skilful use of latex – vegan natural rubber, to be precise, a sustainable material – for the sexy wearability of the top, the elegance of the silhouette of the trousers, the essential monochrome of the total white.

Alessandro Vigilante thus commented on the look chosen by stylist Tatiana Waterford for the singer:

It is not the first time that a star has chosen the looks of the Apulian-born designer: among the latest appearances on the red carpet, also Beatrice Grannò, actress of The White Lotus, with a custom made dress – also this white and Carlacia Grant from the TV series Outer Banks with a light blue cut out dress from the spring summer 2023 collection in latex effect jersey.

Among the most recent occasions in which we have seen a (happy) increase in searches on Instagram relating to a brand is that of the 2023 Grammys and Sharon Stone, who has accustomed us to chameleonic choices in terms of looks (remember the fetish in Dolce&Gabbana in Venice or with the blue and white embroidered mermaid dress?), she chose a fuchsia pink suit signed by ACT N°1.

It is a jacket and trousers with a rigorous cut, lit up by maxi ruffles in tulle, a look from the brand’s latest collection. “Sharon Stone at the pre Grammys is a perfect interpretation of the fuchsia ruffle tuxedo: dressed up and flamboyant” commented Galib Gassanoff and Luca Lin, the duo’s designers who also designed a look recently worn by Rita Ora – a jacket covered in all-over vintage Casio watches – and the dress with transparent bustier worn by Beyoncè for the Summer Renaissance campaign by Tiffany & Co.

Even Elodie, star of the cover of Vogue Italia in February, is among the celebs who most often choose to wear looks by Made in Italy brands (still) unknown to the mainstream: we have seen her, for example, interpreting a tribute to Raffaella Carrà in a look by ANDREĀDAMO, the knitwear brand designed by Andrea Adamo which in just a few seasons has made itself known for its sexy lines and layered cut-outs.
