The great classic of French literature, The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, returns to the big screen in a new, colossal film adaptation, starring Eva Green, Vincent Cassel and Louis Garrel. The film, in Italian cinemas from today, is entitled The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan, and Notorious Pictures has released the new official commercials, along with stills from the film. Also, know that a novel and a manga were made from the book, published by Gallucci.

The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan is the first of a duology, with the chapter dedicated to Milady to be released soon. Both films were directed by Martin Bourboulon (Eiffel, Papa ou Maman and Papa ou Maman 2), Eva Green takes on the role of Milady de Winter, Vincent Cassel plays the role of Athos and Louis Garrel is King Louis XIII. In the role of the iconic protagonist we have François Civil, joined by Romain Duris in the role of Aramis and Pio Marmaï in those of Porthos, while Vicky Krieps is the queen consort Anne of Austria.

The film is a real event for genre cinema, a huge production for a modern swashbuckler, whose French launch clearly took place in grand style (as you can see from this behind-the-scenes look) and which in Italy has also gave rise to an educational activity in collaboration with Alice nella Città: in connection with Paris the director Martin Bourboulon and the interpreters Vincent Cassel, François Civil, Romain Duris and Pio Marmaï established a dialogue with the young participants in a special masterclass, which they also had the opportunity to preview the film.

Movie synopsis:
D’Artagnan, a lively young Gascon, is left for dead after trying to save a girl from a kidnapping. When he arrives in Paris, he tries in every way to track down the mysterious attackers but he doesn’t know that the search will lead him into the heart of a real war, which puts the future of France at stake. Allying himself with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, three Musketeers of the King, D’Artagnan will face the machinations of Cardinal Richelieu. But, falling in love with Constance, the Queen’s confidante, he will put himself in serious danger, earning the enmity of the one who will become his worst enemy: Milady.
