Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the ceasefire agreement between the two sides could be extended by one day for every 10 hostages released by the Islamic extremist group.
However, Israeli officials noted that while there was an option for a 10-day cessation of hostilities, this was unlikely to occur.
Despite truce, IDF continues offensive

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said “significant progress” had been made in the talks but that the United States would not rest as long as “Hamas continues to hold hostages in Gaza.”
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron assured that the agreement between Hamas and Israel is a key step in rescuing the hostages and resolving the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel also welcomed the deal, with Michel adding that he was “grateful to Qatar and Egypt for their help in the negotiations”.
Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the talks were “the first good news from Gaza in a long time,” adding that the Kremlin had been advocating for a ceasefire and humanitarian truce.
53 journalists killed in war between Israel and Hamas
As of Tuesday, November 21, 53 journalists had died as a result of the war between Israel and Hamas, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.
The NGO detailed that 46 of the dead informants were Palestinians, 4 of them Israelis and 3 Lebanese, who had died since the start of hostilities on October 7.
The commission insists this is the deadliest period for journalists since records began in 1992.
