Back to Massafra Vicinanze Festival, organized with the support of the Municipality of Massafra together with the Pugliese Public Theater this year with the artistic and organizational cooperation of the cultural association AFO 6-Converters of idea.
Vicenanza owes its name to a special typology of underground buildings in the historic center of Massafra, Vicenanza.
Proximity, rapprochement, rediscovery of the territory, return of places to citizens, fostering a sense of belonging between the vocation and the intentions of this review, which will take place over three days at the end of August and with free admission, Friday 25 Saturday. 26 and Sunday 27 August at Piazza Garibaldi (21:30). The idea of the project is that Vicenance is understood as places that can be discovered through the mixing of knowledge from different cultures and, therefore, different sounds. A varied journey through various musical styles to discover world music and the purest songwriting tradition.
It kicks off Friday, August 25 with live performances from Roberto Angelini and Rodrigo D’Erasmo, an instrumental psychedelic tour based on Nick Drake, to some previews of new instrumental work due out in 2024. Roberto Angelini, renowned songwriter, guitarist and face of Propaganda Live and Rodrigo D’Erasmo, eclectic violinist, composer and multi-instrumentalist for Afterhours.
Saturday, August 26 Joe Barbieri Taken from One Real Night: 30 Years of Play, a special tour celebrating the pearl wedding or three decades of marriage between Joe Barbieri and music. On stage, in addition to Joe (with his voice and ubiquitous guitar), Pietro Lussa (piano), Bruno Marcozzi (drums and percussion) and Daniele Sorrentino (double bass) will take their places.
Sunday 27 Eugenio Finardi with Rafael Casarano and Mirco Signorile in a concert filled with great energy, but also great delicacy and emotional truth. Mirko Signorile, at the piano, traverses the trajectories of Rafaele Casarano’s saxophone in a stream of Finardi songs, paying homage to his dearest authors, from Battiato to Fossati.
