Blue Bottle, in collaboration with artist Abel Tesfaye, known professionally as “The Weeknd,” has released the next installment in the Samra Origins series: Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.1 and Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.2.
Tesfaye helped create the Samra Origins Blend range with his mother after they were inspired to deconstruct the nuances of coffee.
Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.1, sourced from the Hambel estate, displays bold fruit flavors and soft floral notes, while Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.2 has lighter, gentle acidity combined with citrus notes.
Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.1 is naturally processed, a method that dates back centuries when the first coffee crop was grown and processed in Ethiopia. This involves drying the coffee cherries entirely without any mechanical intervention.
Samra Origins Single Origin Vol.2 was made using a washed process, resulting in a coffee with lighter notes of tart fruit and vibrant flowers. Organic matter is removed from the coffee beans and washed with water before drying, resulting in a cleaner tasting coffee.
Both blends will be available for a limited time starting Thursday, September 28th. Each single origin coffee will retail for $22 per bag of whole beans.
