Greta Gerwig’s Barbie trailer featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling it drove the public crazy but especially the web.
The Instagram page of @nbcsnl has also released the character posters of American Girl, continuation of the parody of Barbie.
The video begins by showing some scenes from the Barbie trailer
, like that of the doll’s iconic shoe (one of the frames that most excited the web), to then show the version of the same, but this time with a decidedly smaller foot. Meanwhile, a narrator states that: “People can’t stop talking about the trailer for the new Barbie movie. But not all dolls live in a dream house. Hello beautiful some older, younger, sadder… it’s the American Girls“.
Each of the six (Ana de Armas, Sarah Squirm, Molly Kearney, Ego Nwodim, Chloe Fineman and Heidi Gardner) represents a part of American history
. The girls then begin to introduce themselves, briefly explaining their historical backround, for example:”I’m a Victorian-era orphan, and I watched my parents drown on a boatThe response to every single tragic story is as hilarious as the smiling way they tell it.
