They invite minors to get vaccinated to avoid respiratory diseases

Ciudad Juárez – The National Health Secretariat calls on the community to vaccinate minors in case of acute respiratory diseases among the population, including influenza, coronavirus, common cold, bronchitis, tonsillitis and others.

So far this year, the state has recorded 15,000 cases of acute respiratory illness, the state has recorded 108 cases of influenza, and Juárez has 21 confirmed cases and only two deaths.

Rogelio Covarrubias Gil Lamadrid, medical director of the northern region, reported that the mechanism of transmission is respiratory (through the mouth and nose), by virus or bacteria, and lasts for at least two weeks.

Likewise, Verónica Carrión, Epidemiology Coordinator of the Second Health Region, reports that warning signs in children under 5 years of age are: difficulty breathing, the child complains a lot and stops eating, there are Sagging skin, persistent fever, bluish lips or fingernails, and appearing weak are signs that should be taken to the hospital immediately to avoid serious complications that could lead to death.

Epidemiologists commented that there has been no rebound in Covid-19 infections in the state, which has recorded 18 cases and two deaths from October 1 to date.

Children under 2 years old should continue to be breastfed because breast milk contains large amounts of immunoglobulins, which help the child’s immune system.

In addition, he recommended not smoking near children or the elderly, avoiding sudden changes in temperature, otherwise covering the nose and mouth and eating fruits such as citrus fruits.

Karla Villegas, who is in charge of vaccinations for the Juárez Health District, mentioned that to avoid these diseases, she recommends using masks, avoiding self-medication, feeding healthily and drinking enough water.

The most vulnerable groups are children under 5 and over 60 with chronic degenerative diseases or immune deficiencies, and pregnant women.

To this end, he noted that it is extremely important to get vaccinated rather than self-medicate, as it masks the symptoms of the disease, takes longer to recover and can worsen health conditions.

In this sense, they invite the population to come to their medical units to be vaccinated and to complete the vaccination program for minors.
