WINSTON-SALEM – Respiratory illnesses like the flu and Covid-19 can become complicated and lead to death, which can be prevented with vaccines.
The Forsyth County Health Department continues its campaign to encourage children to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
The health agency said via social networks that the available vaccine is Pfizer’s and is suitable for children between 6 months and 11 years old.
The Ministry of Health stressed that other childhood vaccines will continue to be available until further notice.
In addition to the Covid-19 vaccine for minors, there is reportedly a flu vaccine for all age groups.
It’s better to take precautions
The reminder of available vaccines is intended to prevent more deaths from respiratory illnesses in North Carolina.
According to official data, as of December 23, 30 people have died from influenza in the state, including three minors.
Therefore, the health agency urges the public not to let down their guard and get all family members up-to-date on vaccinations.
No identification of any kind is required to receive the vaccine, and no insurance is required.
Both vaccines are administered at the County Health Department clinic at 799 N. Highland Avenue, east of downtown Winston-Salem.
Vaccinations are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays such as New Year’s Day.
