They rule out the possibility of a new virus in China

Chinese health authorities say they have identified the virus causing an outbreak of childhood pneumonia in the country. They suspect it is caused by a new virus.

The Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report concluding that among the people analyzed, The two most common pathogens are rhinovirus, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), and seasonal influenza.

In the pediatric population, circulating viruses have been detected: adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, and seasonal influenza.

So far, health authorities have called for enhanced primary care and coordination in hospitals to deal with the new peak in respiratory illnesses.

In recent days, there has been an increase in pneumonia cases in China, mainly affecting children. As a result, the World Health Organization (WHO) has requested detailed information about the virus responsible for this peak of illness.

Initially, the incident occurred due to the country lifting measures against covid-19.

It was initially suggested that this peak in respiratory illnesses could be caused by the spread of viruses such as influenza, RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), Mycoplasma pneumoniae and SARS-CoV-2.
