The Catholic Church celebrates August 22 Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen, a real holiday for Christians. It was originally celebrated on 31 May; then it was decided to change the date and choose the eighth day of the Dormition in order to “emphasize the connection between Mary’s royalty and her bodily glorification.” The Church also commemorates the martyrs Fabriziano (Fabrizio) and Philibert, San Filippo Benisi, San Cinforiano di Oten and Blessed Thomas Percy.
