Why Adam Driver turned down Marvel’s offer to reboot Fantastic Four

According to a new rumor Adam Driver it would be turned down an offer from Marvel for his role as Reed Richards in the reboot Fantastic Four in preparation. The rumor also uncovered reason for this rejection.

Naturally, we remain in the realm of unverified rumors. A few months ago, the news of Adam Driver’s possible engagement to play the role of Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four spread around the world, causing reactions even from MCU star Elizabeth Olsen. Soon after, it was reported that Margot Robbie was also in talks to play Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman, but both fantacasts were rejected last month.

Now Above the Live’s Jeff Snyder revealed during The Hot Mic podcast why Driver would say no to the Fantastic Four. The actor would have preferred to give up due to his inability to understand how the character was written.

“Adam Driver was never really involved in the project”Snyder reports, noting that the actor has long since moved on from the Fantastic Four. “They sent him the script and he said he couldn’t connect with the character on the page… Everything died very soon.”

Adam Driver’s name is just one of many that have come up in possible attacks on Fantastic Four. According to Jeff Snyder, there is still a possibility that Adam Driver will end up accepting the role if the changes made to the character after Josh Friedman’s new recast satisfies him, but among the possible names for the role of Reed Richards, we also find John Krasinski, Penn Badgley and Dev Patel.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Venice Film Festival will feature the latest acting work, Driver, a biopic by Michael Mann Ferrari dedicated to the famous founder of the Italian automaker, Enzo Ferrari.
