This Will Smith horror classic will be released on Netflix UK in October.

Netflix has announced its October release slate, and just in time for Halloween, Will Smith’s horror classic is coming to the streaming platform.

Described by Netflix as a “post-apocalyptic horror”, the film earned Smith praise upon release for his leading role in the dystopian tale.

It continues: “Starring Will Smith as the last man alive in New York, (he) desperately tries to find a cure for the monsters that lurk in the shadows.”

Film, 2007 I’m a legendwill be released on Netflix on October 23.

Earlier this year, more information about I’m a legend A sequel has arrived, including news that it will feature a time jump and a rewrite of the original ending of the first film.

The film’s producer and screenwriter, Akiva Goldsmith, made the revelation while speaking with Deadline. He explained that Last of us was a huge inspiration for his plans when it came to the film.

“This will start several decades later than the first one,” Goldsman said. “I’m obsessed Last of uswhere we see the world only after the apocalypse, but also 20-30 years later.

“You see the land reclaiming the world, and there is something beautiful about the question: What happens when a person is no longer the primary tenant? This will be especially evident in New York. I don’t know if they’ll go up the Empire State Building, but the possibilities are endless.”

He also noted that the sequel will actually be different from the original feature film version, adding that it will stick to the alternate ending that was later released for the film. In this ending, Smith’s character actually survives, managing to fend off the final attack of the infected.

“We’re going back to Matheson’s original book and going back to an alternate ending to the released ending in the original film,” Goldsman explained.

“What Matheson was saying was that man’s time on the planet as the dominant species has come to an end. This is a really interesting thing for us to explore. It will be a little more faithful to the original text.”

It has already been confirmed that Smith will return in the film as Dr. Robert Neville.
