Tiffany & Co. unveils 4 limited edition watches to celebrate the restyling of the New York boutique

On the notes of Henry Mancini what woman never dreamed of being Andrey Hepurn? Many, perhaps all. But finally after 5 years of work, the historic brand shop on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street will open its doors, with a completely updated set-up by the expert hands of the architect Peter Marinotrusted name of the group Lvmhowner since 2021 Of Tiffany & Co.

In the shop, which according to the New York Times will reopen the April 28ththe executive vice president of Tiffany Alexandre Arnault (son of the founder and major shareholder of Lvmh) and the CEO, Anthony Ledru, explain that the restructuring focused on two concepts: modernity and historical heritage.

The restyling has left the facade of the building opened in intact 1940 and made famous all over the world by the film with Audrey Hepburn from 1961, as well as the three-metre-high statue of Atlas holding the clock, but the real revolution happened inside. On the ground floor stands out the animation of a diamond-encrusted bird flying over the skyline of New York Citywhile a blue statue tiffany of a woman who seems to have come out of antiquity stands against a curved staircase.

So, the 30-year-old Alexandre Arnault displays another shop highlight: ‘Equals Pi’, a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat made in a shade of blue similar to the brand’s signature colour, featured prominently in the advertising campaign About Love by Tiffany from 2021 with Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

And alluding to the address 727 Fifth Ave of the historic building, the indices of 5 and some 6 are removed to make room for the “727”, which lines the bottom of the dial.

There are two iterations: a simple version with a rose gold case and cream dial on a brown alligator leather strap for $10,000 and, for $35,000, one decorated with pavé diamonds on the dial and rose gold case with strap options. in black and Tiffany blue alligator leather. Both are limited to just 100 pieces each and feature a color print of the new shop under the sapphire crystal casebacks.

It wouldn’t be a real moment Tiffany & Co., however, no one of a kind fine jewelry pieces, price on request and of course diamonds everywhere. These are inspired by another Manhattan monument, Washington Square

, and while the location has no historical ties to the brand, it has managed to inspire a thoroughly modern design. The 12 o’clock indexes take their cue from the park fountain while the diamond bracelet mimics the hexagonal shaped pavement. There are only two in the world on offer: one with a blue-sapphire dial (pictured) and one with white diamonds.
