The rising star took to Instagram on Friday afternoon to share three different photos of herself dancing in a shimmering yellow swimsuit. She wears a knitted white cardigan wrapped around her body as she shows off her toned physique. She paired her yellow swimsuit with yellow knee-high boots and left her brown hair flowing loosely over her shoulders. In the caption of this Instagram post, she posted three dancing emojis, followed by two disco ball emojis.

Fans were quick to shower her hot snaps with heart and fire emojis. “Queen of pop,” one fan commented. “You are so iconic,” another follower wrote. “Your songs are so good,” chimed in a third fan as her followers gushed about her recently released AR EP.

Addison just released her first EP “AR”

In an August 2023 interview with Vogue ahead of the release of her first EP, AR, Addison admitted, “I feel very grateful and happy,” adding, “I was a little nervous, but I’m less nervous now. I feel like I’ve had enough time with these songs and now I can breathe a sigh of relief because they’re finally going to be officially released.”

“I grew up a huge MTV fan, watching all the music videos and recreating them in my bedroom, and thought I wanted to do that one day,” she says of the whirlwind journey. “So it was always a dream, but it seemed like a very distant dream, you know? I feel like a lot of people have this dream, but it seems so far away. I grew up in Louisiana too…it’s a completely different world. It was crazy. But for me it always comes down to the joy of performing.”

Addison Rae admits she can be “pretty hard” on herself.

To fulfill her dream, she began taking singing lessons during the COVID-19 lockdown and released her hit single “Obsessed” in March 2021. However, not everyone was thrilled with her career change.

“Obviously, I’ve written a lot of songs, like everyone has, trying to figure out what they want to say and what kind of music they want to make,” she said. “When I did that, I released Taken and…”

“In general, I’m pretty hard on myself. I have very high standards for myself, and sometimes this can be my downfall. I just wanted people to know that I really care about music and take it seriously. “I released ‘Obsessed’ and, you know, people didn’t like it as much as I did,” she admitted.

“I think I had a very fragile sense of self at that time,” she recalled, admitting that she had almost completely given up on her musical dreams. “I was 19, you know? It kind of crushed me for a while. I started to feel a lot of self-doubt and the big dreams I was aiming for, I just thought, “Maybe I’m not good enough to do this.”

Fans convinced Addison not to give up on her dream!

Luckily, fans on Reddit and Twitter made her change her mind about giving up her career. “I started noticing that there was a group of people who were very interested in them, and that brought back a little bit of my interest in the whole thing,” she said. “I was very surprised, after a long period of time, that people were so interested and wanted to see me continue. And so I began to realize that the only way to fail is to not continue. I think this is the most important thing I’ve learned in the last two and a half years.”

Now that she’s released her first EP, she’s ready to experiment with her style. “I just want to hear everything, I want to try everything, I want to do everything,” she said. “And I want to work with people who will push me outside of my comfort zone.”

“I think now I know myself, I know what I want to do, I know where I want to go and I have complete control over doing it exactly the way I imagine it. I wanted this EP to be the end note to the last few years and a stepping stone forward in my career,” she added.
