There is speculation about whether New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will miss next season, and the team is currently 2-8.
Former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady admitted that the idea of Belichick not coaching in New England was difficult for him to accept, especially after the legendary coach spent the past few decades with the Patriots. After waiting on the sidelines.
Belichick is looking ahead to his second losing season in three years. If the season ended today, the Patriots would have the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Belichick has always been known as a defensive mastermind, often getting the most out of his personnel over the years. However, this season in particular has been a struggle.
Currently, the Patriots are trying to avoid being at the bottom of the standings.
Brady said during an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” that Belichick’s approach has not changed.
“I think he’s an incredible coach. I believe he’s the best coach in the history of the game,” Brady said. “So, I mean, I don’t know, it’s hard for me to think about him not being in New England. I think he’s very ready for the team. Ultimately, you have to have a lot of guys around you to be successful.
“There’s a lot of things you have to do well in order for an organization to be successful. I think he’s coaching probably not that much different now than he was in 2007 when we were undefeated. I’m sure he’s preparing the team the same way. The results are different, But that’s also what makes this sport so challenging. There are so many reasons why teams win or lose.”

There are certainly many factors that go into the success of the NFL. Quarterback play is certainly one of them, but the personnel around the quarterback is another big factor.
Of course, everyone has enough to blame. The bottom line is that the results are not in yet. One has to wonder if this will be an offseason of change for the organization.
