The future NFL Hall of Famer joined 12 NFL teams and served as multiple team owners and presidents. and multiple other athletes weighing in on Israel’s war against Hamas.
The former New England Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback strongly condemned the heinous acts of Hamas terrorists six days ago.
Brady released the following statement to his 3 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) and posted the same photo to his 14.5 million Instagram followers:
Tom Brady’s Israeli war statement is good, but not great
Brady definitely deserves respect for taking a side and calling Hamas terrorists. He did not call them “fighters” or “freedom fighters” or an army. We should remember that these people mainly attacked civilians, and according to the latest estimates, the death toll was as high as 1,300 people.
Terrorists do not discriminate in their violence against men, women, children and even babies.
So, yes, terrorists.
Brady said he was heartbroken for all the innocent lives lost and about to be lost in Israel and Gaza. There is nothing wrong with this in itself.
Innocent people are victims wherever they live.
But let’s be clear: some media outlets portray all adults and non-combatants whose homes in Gaza were flattened by Israeli bombing as innocents. Not everything is like that, right?
Some ran from buildings, weeping over the loss of lives, homes, electricity and water in Gaza, but they celebrated the first day of war. They were handing out candy and dancing as the terrorists returned to Gaza with the desecrated bodies of Israelis.
Those non-combatants are not innocent.

As for Brady’s fear that “the violence continues to unfold with no sign of stopping”:
This is a war. The violence will continue until one side surrenders.
Many countries around the world have called for a cessation of hostilities. ceasefire. This is a common and popular worldview that Brady endorses.
But have Brady and those calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities fully considered their position?
Stopping fighting saves lives, including terrorists
Wouldn’t it be better to force Israel – admittedly now the aggressor after being attacked – to back down before its strategic objectives are achieved?
It will undoubtedly save lives, yes. But they certainly include many terrorists who would otherwise be killed. Stop now and the murderers will not be punished for their crimes.
If these predators have no impact on individuals, they will be free to increase their activities so that they can return at a future date to kill more unsuspecting innocents.
This is a war and people have died. And will continue to die. This is the sad and disturbing truth. But our good opinion on this issue means applying pressure to make it sound humane in the end, but may have inhumane unintended consequences.
Finally, Brady said his family will “continue to pray.”
