Tom Brady revealed that he would like to see Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen play another dozen years.

The future Hall of Famer gave the 27-year-old advice on how to achieve that goal – run the ball less.

“I think sometimes he gets used to it and wants to run because he knows he can gain yards. People have confidence in that,” Brady said on his “Let’s Go!” podcast.

“But the only problem from my perspective is, you’re putting yourself at risk. When you put yourself at risk, it doesn’t take much for someone to land on you and make You back off,” Brady continued.

There’s no question that Brady has experience running without the ball for extended periods of time in the NFL. He never rushed for more than 110 yards in a season, which he accomplished in 2002, his third year in the league.

Through eight games into the 2023 season, Allen has rushed for 189 yards, which may be his lowest total ever.

“I’d like to see Josh save those for very special moments and special occasions to run the ball instead of running the ball six minutes into the game,” Brady continued.

“It’s not that he shouldn’t run, but when he does, just fucking slide and make sure no one hits you because I don’t want to see him get hurt, I want to see him out there playing because he What a damn stud,” Brady said.

“I’d like to see him play another 10 to 12 years and really see how he can maximize his potential,” Brady concluded.

The run and physicality have become a big part of Allen’s style of play, helping the Bills many times over the years.

However, Allen, who appeared as a guest on the episode, didn’t disagree with Brady and added some context.

“He’s right, I’m not saying he’s wrong, but you can get hurt in the pocket just like you can get hurt outside of the pocket. That’s my only warning about it,” Allen said.

“You have to win a football game and sometimes that requires me to do things like put my life on the line for my teammates because I love my teammates so much and I see them working their butts off as well,” Allen continued. .

“It’s hard for me to stop because I care so much about winning football games and sometimes that leads to a little bit more risk than reward,” Allen countered.

Allen is far from a one-trick pony, and as he gets older, he may no longer need his legs to do damage. However, it would take more than Brady’s advice to make such sweeping changes.
