Tom Brady’s latest podcast avoids Josh McDaniels being fired by Raiders

Tom Brady has reached a deal to buy 10% of the Raiders (pending league approval, which may never be granted). Tom Brady has a weekly podcast “Let’s Go!” on Sirius XM.

Since last week’s incident, the Raiders have fired Brady’s longtime former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.And, in a new episode let’s go!Brady did not address the topic of McDaniels’ firing.

How can it be? This is the easiest goal to achieve. “Tom, what do you think about your new business partner Mark Davis firing your old friend Josh McDaniels? Did Davis consult with you? Do you agree with the move? Don’t you agree?” Have you talked to Davis? Have you talked to Josh? What are your thoughts on Antonio Pierce getting the interim job?”

Co-host Jim Gray didn’t say anything on the obvious topic. Instead, Gray asked a broad question about the inevitability of change in the NFL, concluding with a passing reference to McDaniels’ firing.

“I’ve seen a lot of things over the years, a lot of different reactions from different people, and I’ve never been in a season where we were in this situation as a team, but a lot of teams are like that,” Brady said, via The Team part of the transcript. “So obviously it changes every week. Injuries. Daniel Jones tore his ACL yesterday against the Raiders. Players are having season-ending injuries and coaches are leaving. So, you have to be able to adapt, Adjust and keep moving forward. Those people who step in these places, then they have to go out and they have to come up with, you know, it’s not like all the problems that happen when you solve a problem like this. People are making changes and teams have to do their best. Adapt as much as possible. When players leave, coaches get fired, things happen to family members, you have to adjust your personal life, there are a lot of changes. So you have to continue to adjust and adapt in the best way possible.”

The only logical explanation is that Brady doesn’t want to be there. Since this is his platform, it is his prerogative to do so.
