Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady expressed his support for Gregg Popovich’s actions during the Spurs’ game against the Clippers on Wednesday night.
Former NFL superstar quarterback Tom Brady is also a fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Gregg Popovich appealed to San Antonio fans after making a surprising decision in Wednesday night’s game against Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal-caller commented on Popovich’s Bleacher Report Instagram post asking viewers to stop booing Leonard, saying “Like this.”
Some of Leonard’s best moments in basketball occurred during his time with Popovich and the Spurs, but the end of his tenure in San Antonio was controversial, to say the least. However, it wasn’t enough for Popovich to get Spurs fans to boo Leonard.
“Excuse me for a moment. “Can we stop all the booing and let these guys keep playing? “ Popovich asked Spurs fans as Leonard was at the free throw line. “This has no class, this is not who we are. “Stop the booing. “
Brady was known for his hyper-competitive personality during his time in the NFL, but even the future Hall of Fame quarterback agreed with Popovich’s behavior.
Regardless, Leonard didn’t seem to be negatively affected by the boos. If anything, he might even be excited about it, as he scored 26 points on 10-for-17 shooting and 4-for-4 from the free throw line. The Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama who had 22 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, lost their 10th straight game, including their last two losses to the Fast Fleet competition.
