The BMW X7 owned by actor Tom Cruise was stolen on Tuesday while filming in Birmingham. The actor was in town filming for the seventh film in the Mission Impossible film series, according to the BBC.
The Sun claimed that Cruise’s vehicle was taken in front of the Grand Hotel on Church Street and was recovered shortly after, according to West Midlands police.
The vehicle was found near Smethwick, and investigations are currently underway.
Parts of Grand Central Mall, above Birmingham’s New Street Station, were closed Sunday through Wednesday to allow filming to continue.
British transport police officers met Tom Cruise as he walked around the city and shared the picture on social media: “We promise she’s not photoshopped.”
Birmingham Mayor Muhammad Afzal also had the opportunity to meet Cruise. He said it was a “fantastic visit and a fascinating behind-the-scenes look”.
“I can’t wait to see the film when it is released,” Mr Afzal added.
Earlier, Tom Cruise landed by helicopter in the garden of a family in Warwickshire, in a scene that is part of the new film of the franchise “Mission Impossible”. The owner of the house stated that she did not know that it was about the American actor until he got out of the aircraft.
