Tom Felton’s Harry Potter co-stars give an honest review of the new memoir.

A few months after the book’s release, Tom Felton’s companions in the Harry Potter films, Jason Isaacs and Rupert Grint, have a jocular but heartfelt review of his memoirs. Like fellow child actors Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, Felton became famous for his role in the film adaptation of JK Rowling’s fantasy novels, which centered on the young wizard of the same name and his adventures at Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry . Felton played Draco Malfoy, Harry’s rival and bully and a member of the Death Eaters for a time.

Despite debuting at #1 on the New York Times non-fiction bestseller list, Tom Felton’s Harry Potter filmmates Jason Isaacs and Rupert Grint have candid reviews of his memoirs.

As shared by Felton on Instagram and seen above, the image shows Lucius Malfoy and Ron Weasley actors, wrinkling their noses as they read a novel copy of his memoir, Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard. Felton, clearly amused by the joke photo, praised their responses as “the best review yet.”

Not maintaining the same level of stardom as Radcliffe or Watson in later years, Felton continued to have a steady career following the end of the Harry Potter saga in 2011. The Draco actor played similarly antagonistic roles in Rise of the Planet of the Apes that same year, in the 2013 historical drama Belle and the Netflix thriller Message from the King opposite Chadwick Boseman.

In the mid-2010s, Felton turned his attention primarily to television, starting with the 2013 miniseries Labyrinth, in which he starred opposite Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby and John Hurt, and the TNT crime drama Murder in the First. One of his biggest roles was in the third season of The Flash, where he played Barry Allen’s forensic scientist rival Julian Desmond, revealed to be one of the main villains of the season, Doctor Alchemy, but who is ultimately redeemed when he works with Team Flash to defeat Savitar.

More recently, Felton was praised for his performances in the 2018 historical romantic drama Ophelia and the sci-fi series Origin that same year, before returning to film with the 2020 family horror film A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, playing the bad Boogeyman. In addition to memoirs of him, Felton makes frequent appearances at Harry Potter conventions and has also appeared on HBO Max’s reunion special alongside Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, among others.
