Tomorrow Sottosuoni, Vox day review for Cagliari live – Sassari News

Cagliari. The weekend kicks off the first series of meetings with Sottosuoni, an overview created by the Vox Day cooperative for Cagliari dal Vivo, an extensive program of cultural and recreational activities promoted Municipality of the capital of Sardinia. Thirteen nights of live music, over thirty concerts and over a hundred participating artists, from different genres, from blues to songwriting, from indie to country, from rap to ethnic: this is how Sottosuoni presents himself in pills that will work until mid-September takes the stage in the peripheral spaces of the city, from Lazaretto di Sant’Elia to Casa Saddi di Pirri, from the castle of San Michele to the “Corto Maltiys” on Poetto beach, to “Luigi Pirandello”. school in Sant Avendras (where two training workshops will take place), after rounding the Monte Mixi area on June 9 with a Skunk Anansie and Black Black Istanbul concert, which was an important pre-event of the review.

Prominent names on the list include: Alessandro “Asso” Stefana (on stage August 10 at Casa Saddi), Paolo Bonfanti (same), Edda (11), Nitro and Sgribaz (13), Enrico Cipollini (16); and then Federica Urracci Band, Salem 1692, Loudstation, Black Black Istanbul, Armonie Evolutive, Lord J & Sardus Pater, Musalibre, Joshburger Trio, Corale I Polyphonica, Patrick Atzori & The Crazy Slivers, Bob Forte & Skydog, The Colvins, Diego 100K & Domunos, Nino La D & RemSound (360 Clique), The Highwayman Country Band, Duo Laura Tuveri, Mom’s Spaghetti, Trio Bob Forte, Pink Haus, Vio Acoustics. A large and diverse line-up of national music professionals and young island artists who share their experiences, techniques and compositional strategies by playing on the same stage and finding opportunities for personal and professional growth.

So we start this weekend with two evenings at Lazzaretto, the municipal center of art and culture in the Sant’Elia area, both starting at 20:00 and admission is free. Tomorrow (Saturday 5) evening, the group of the singer Federica Urracci will inaugurate the dance, a formation born in 2018, with the intention of recreating, albeit in a more informal and intimate context, the sounds of the great concerts of contemporary artists; in fact, the repertoire includes the very latest pop and dance, from Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande to Beyoncé, Rihanna and Pure Thug just to name a few, without forgetting the songs that made it into disco history. Federica Urracci is a structured “show”: songs follow one after the other in the style of DJs with very few breaks.

The second edition of the evening features Salem 1692 (highlighted image), an alternative rock band that was formed in Cagliari in 2021 around Maria Luisa Angius (vocals), Nicolò Mereu (guitar), Matteo Saio (bass) and Eugen Soldati (drums) . The band draws inspiration from a variety of genres, from 90/2000 alternative rock to darkwave-tinged glam rock. Energetic, theatrical and eccentric, Salem has two singles to his credit, accompanied by official videos: “Corpse Bride”, a painful rock ballad that touches on the complex issue of domestic violence, and “My Valentine”, where they play rhythm and swing. come together to create a haunting song that tells a sad story of unrequited love.

Double live and the next day – Sunday 6 – at Lazzaretto. The opening (at 20 years old) is entrusted to Loudstation, an active formation since 2015 that varies between different musical currents and sounds, from hard rock to alternative metal, with constant influences and inspiration from punk, classic rock and the progressive world. Loudstation’s main reference groups include Alter Bridge, Tremonti, SoundGarden, Audioslave, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater and Foo Fighters.

The focus of attention in the second part of the evening is Claudio Farah and Martino Pala’s Black Black Istanbul, who already on June 9 were applauded on the stage of the Fair before the Skunk Anansie concert. The duo was formed in Senega in 2017 and is recognized for their raw and naked fuzz rock inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, Royal Blood all the way to master Ty Segall. In January 2018, their first single Bad Kong was released, two months later, in March, the album was released on the independent label Oh Dear Records. Following the single released in December 2019 on Oh Dear! Records begins the process of producing new material, with the release of the single Wake up and Run in February 2022, followed by the single I’m not ready for the guns in August.
