The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – Sky Showcase – 20:35
One of the greatest sequels ever made. This is the epic battle at Helm’s Deep.

Anna – FilmFour – 21:00
Even with a decent cast – Cillian Murphy, Luke Evans, Helen Mirren – this action-killer is just boring.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li – AMC – 9:00 p.m.
It makes Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue’s film look like The Godfather.

Midnight Run – Legend – 21:00

Recently celebrated its 35th anniversary with Robert De Niro’s most amazing performance yet.

American Pie: Reunion – Comedy Central – 9:00 p.m.
The story takes place approximately ten years after the original films. The stars are returning to see if aging means they’ve truly matured. It turns out, no, not so much.

Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – RTÉ One – 21:25.
Judi Dench and Maggie Smith star in this enjoyable comedy.

Grand Budapest Hotel – TG4 – 21:45.

Our top pick for the evening is The Grand Budapest Hotel, Wes Anderson’s sci-fi comedy, which scores 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Much of the action takes place within the titular hotel, and the insanely cast includes Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Saoirse Ronan, Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, Harvey Keitel and Jeff Goldblum. If you miss this evening’s TV, The Grand Budapest Hotel is also available to watch on Disney+.

Minority Report – Channel 4 – 23:05
When the film recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, we named it Spielberg’s best film.

Jackass 3.5 – Comedy Central – 11:15 p.m.
The third Jackass movie, but it has five point more shots than the cinematic release.

Splicing – FilmFour – 23:20
Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star in this sci-fi horror about scientists who create a new life form only for it to brutally turn against them.

Halloween II – Sky Sci-Fi – 23:20
Halloween 1981 Part 2 is not to be confused with Halloween 2009 Part 2 or Halloween Part 2 2021.

Money Plane – Legend – 11:30 p.m.
Contains the classic line: “If you want to bet on a dude fucking an alligator…Money Plane.” Horrible action movie. But it’s still weirdly fun.

The Turning – BBC One – 11:50pm.
Not a very good horror movie with the guy from Stranger Things. 12% on Rotten Tomatoes. Avoid.

Hope Gap – RTÉ One – 00:45.
A worthy romantic drama starring Annette Bening and Bill Nighy, it tells the story of a woman whose life is turned upside down when her husband reveals that after 29 years of marriage, he is leaving her for another woman.

Satellite – FilmFour – 1 am
A very good Russian horror film about a scientist who is sent to investigate an astronaut who may not have returned to Earth entirely alone.

Bad Hair – Channel 4 – 1:50am.
A horror film about intelligent hair. Sounds better than that, to be honest.
