Legendary Entertainment has released the first official image, the first poster, and a new official synopsis. Toxic Avengerremake of the Cult of Troma, with Peter Dinklage as the protagonist Winston Goose and Kevin Bacon as the main antagonist.
Toxic Avenger – Plot and cast
Official plot: Based on the 1984 cult work of the same name, it is set in a fictional world and follows Winston, a stereotypical weakling who works as a janitor at the Garb-X health club, when he is diagnosed with a terminal illness that can only be cured with the expensive treatment that his greedy and the power-hungry employer refuses to pay. Deciding to take matters into his own hands and rob his company, Winston falls into a vat of poisonous waste and turns into an ugly monster who intends to do good and take revenge on all the people who wronged him.
The official synopsis explains that the film is “a fresh retelling of Lloyd Kaufman’s classic” and explains that “While the original film (which premiered in 1984—nearly 40 years ago!) followed the fate of Melvin Ferd Junko III (Mitch Cohen), who goes from zero to venomous hero in a failed bullying case, a modern version of Macon Blair follows a horribly deformed brand new being of superhuman size and strength. Peter Dinklage plays “downtrodden janitor Winston Goose, who falls into a vat of toxic waste and becomes none other than the Toxic Avenger. This timely retelling aims to explore environmental themes as Winston battles the evil forces of greed and corruption to save his son, his friends, and his community. Although this story exists on its own, its spirit undoubtedly remains connected to the original.

Interviews and statements
Peter Dinklage spoke about the film in an interview with Empire.
Very funny. I just wanted to do something that I’ve never done before. So why not be a monster in one crazy movie and sing in another? This is not a remake. I like films made in guerrilla mode. Those films that happen no matter what. what they do just because they love to do it. Some of them are not the best, but some are very funny. When you make films too clean, you can alienate the audience. They want to feel the dirt under their nails. I think these Troma films have definitely plunged audiences into toxic waste.
Sound editor Casey Genton spoke to /Film about what we’ll be seeing in the remake.
It’s a really funny movie. Macon Blair, director, I think he did a very good job. Everyone in the movie was a dream. I’m so surprised – I personally didn’t see the original Toxic Avenger until I made this movie. And it’s a great cult classic, and I know people really like it. When they tested it, the film’s fans were in seventh heaven. I think it’s something else. They definitely give the fans what they want. There is no shortage of it – I know everyone is referring to the fact that the child was knocked down, and the like. I think there was a version of the movie that had something added so they made the scene very… I don’t want to spoil it but yes it was called the “guts” scene and that’s probably the best way to fit it. with the nested head that everyone is looking for. So it’s in line with what the fans want and I think it’s fun.
