Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce responded to Los Angeles Lakers star and NBA legend LeBron James’ request to appear on his podcast “Next Level”
Travis Kelce revealed how he watched LeBron James’ games in high school after he asked to be added to his podcast, insisting he believed a message had been sent to the Los Angeles Lakers star invite.
Kelce has made headlines in recent weeks amid rumors he was dating Taylor Swift. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has yet to publicly confirm or deny the rumors, but has hinted at it on social media or on his podcast.
The Chiefs tight end co-hosts the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, center for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles. In the latest episode of the popular podcast, the two addressed the topic of James.

On October 4, James posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) about the Kelce Brothers podcast. The Los Angeles Lakers star expressed his desire to appear as a guest on the podcast and expressed his admiration for the show.
James wrote: “It’s crazy that I couldn’t get an invite to your amazing show! Is it because you guys are literally the King of Ohio (Northeast) and I claim to be? Seriously! Seriously, you guys are awesome !!”
The Kelce brothers, like James, are Ohio natives, although all three currently play outside of Ohio. In the latest episode of the podcast, released on Wednesday, Travis and Jason got to react to James’ tweet.
“It’s crazy, I didn’t expect him to be on this show,” Travis said, before adding: “There’s no way we didn’t extend an invitation to LeBron James.”
Jason also expressed his excitement for James to appear on the podcast, not only as an NBA legend, but as an Ohio native.
“Listen, LeBron, anytime you want to play, man, you’re welcome,” Jason said. “We grew up watching you play, and we watched your career from St. Vincent-St. Louis all the way as a player in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio,” he added. Mary (High School) Present.

Travis then said, “Come on, we’re going to make this happen.” The Chiefs tight end went on to tell the story of how he watched James play basketball in high school in Ohio and how he reacted to what he witnessed awed by everything.
“When I was in seventh grade, I went to a game at Cleveland State to watch LeBron James play high school basketball,” Travis said. “He sold out arenas all over Northeast Ohio and sold it so much that they had to take it to college arenas.
“I just stood up, like a little kid, excited about what this new wave of the NBA was going to look like. Sure enough, he didn’t disappoint, he just kept rising, and it was so cool to follow him.”
