Chaos in Circus Maximus during the performance of the American rapper, former partner of Kylie Jenner. Given the incident, it is assumed that no more permits will be issued for rock concerts in the Colosseum Archaeological Park.

A 14-year-old teenager tried to escape from surveillance and, in order to get to the concert, climbed onto the Palatine Terrace inside the Archaeological Park and fell from a height of about 4 meters into a pit.

Not everything went smoothly at the Travis Scott concert in Rome hosted by Circus Maximus to present the new album “Utopia” live at the world premiere.

Of the 55,000 fans in attendance, 60 were intoxicated and suffered eye and throat irritation after a member of the audience sprayed pepper spray on the crowd.

The people involved began to move away in a block, climbing over the partitions and risking tripping over each other. Fortunately, they were all rescued and assisted by 118 operators: no one was injured or seriously injured.

The performer of this gesture has not yet been identified, as he lost sight of himself in the crowd that was present at the concert.

Police officers from Trevi Police Station and Celio are investigating to locate and identify him.

Little boy in critical condition

On the other hand, the condition of a 14-year-old boy who tried to escape surveillance by climbing the Palatine terrace inside the archaeological park and falling from a height of about 4 meters into a pit is serious.

To save the boy, it took not only the intervention of the 118 service, but also the firefighters who pulled him out of the ditch. After being brought back to the surface, he was taken with a red code to the Bambino Gesu hospital: now he is at risk of filing a complaint for intrusion into the ground or buildings.

No more Circus Maximus for rock concerts

The event, which the whole world was talking about, outraged Alfonsina Rousseau, director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park: “The Circus Maximus is a monument, and as such it must be respected. For this reason, a positive opinion will no longer be given on the use of the territory for rock concerts.

“Given what has happened, including with regard to public safety, and the preservation and protection of the archaeological heritage, we will give a negative opinion on this type of event.”

“Personally, I believe that the Great Circus is a monument, and as such it should be respected and held only and exclusively for certain types of concerts, such as opera, ballet. Music shows, not rock concerts, which, in my opinion, should be moved to specially designated places, that is, to stadiums.
