Trombone Festival in Portcomaro: concerts and four days of Monferrato food and wine

Portcomaro, the City of Music since 2019, is preparing to become the capital of the trombone with a weekend full of live music already titled – “Trombone Festival – Lepep Is Back” – promises to be full of surprises and fun.

Italian and international excellence will be present from June 1 to 4, the world-renowned ensemble Monozil Brass with super guest Zoltan Kiss, Pablo Fenoglio, of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Vicente Clemente Catalaud, first trombone of the Symphony Orchestra of Bern, OSN RAI trombonist Di Mario, Seste, Mazzucco, Marchesi and still many other masters of the main Italian conservatories.

Thursday 1 June Casa della Musica and the schools of Portacomaro will be dedicated to the young people of Portacomaro with a year-end concert: the primary band at 5pm and the secondary school choir at 9pm and the orchestra of the Casa della Musica, directed by Matteo Ravizza. Trombone band, food and wine will feature on the day Saturday 3 June, At 17.30, in the Romanesque church, in collaboration with the Municipal Library, will be held the presentation of the book “Le tre b di Gianni Basso” by William Pettanuzzo. At 7 pm the “Atelier de Cuivères du Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Oeste” directed by Stefano Viola will perform in the green area of ​​the rest home with music by Giovanni Gabrielli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Chris Hazel, Michael Short. Afterwards, local dishes, wines and vermouths can be tasted in Piazza del Tamburello, while restaurants will offer themed menus.

Spectacular concert with Candello’s Sister Band and all guest trombonists to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Banda de Portocomaro at 21.30. Conductors: Chiara Asandri, Paolo Rivardo. Music by Derek Broadbent, Secondino De Palma, Zippo Farasino, Nando Francia, Julius Fusik, Jack Heller, Naohiro Iwai, Wim Lazarom, Leonhard Paul, Astor Piazzolla, Alain Silvestri. Super guest Zoltan Kiss will propose a song dedicated to him “Hungarian Schnapsody” and more jazz until late into the night with the Mauro Parody Quartet.
