Tupac Legend, book by Michel Huddy published

There are stars that shine only one night only to go out with the first light. Others whose radiance is so dazzling that it is destined to shine forever. Tupac Shakur certainly belongs to the second group. It was September 13, 1996, when Tupac, just 25 years old and shot, left this world to become a legend.

And not just because of the dark case – still unsolved – of which his death is part (feud between the West and East coasts). But primarily because Tupac wasn’t only music. Like all great men considered such, Shakur is halfway between bandit and deity – he rose to become the voice of an entire community that found its Bible in rap and hip-hop, and its prophet in flesh and blood in Tupac.

So alive that even twenty-seven years later, the myth of Tupac (who was recently inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame) is still celebrated and revered, and to do so with a photo album was Michelle Huddy. On the day of the rapper’s death, a French-Algerian photographer publishes Tupac LegendLimited edition of 500 copies (can be ordered here) of previously unseen images taken in Los Angeles in 1993.

Michel Huddy, born in 1956 in Paris, is one of those whose lens has seen some of the world’s most important stars pass by. David Bowie, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola are just some of the names Huddy has played in his very long career.
