An extremely rare collection of sneakers, including a pair worn by one of basketball’s greats, is set to be sold at a luxury auction and is expected to fetch a staggering $60 million.
The most popular of the lot is undoubtedly the shoe signed by Michael Jordanwhich was specially made for him and worn during his first years in the job NBA. The rookie red shoes are expected to sell for more than $200,000.
In addition, among the 800 pairs of sneakers, buyers can also see a set of handmade racing shoes designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman.
The 1972 Nike “Moon Shoes” were designed specifically for the Olympic trials, with only 12 produced.

There’s also the aforementioned pair of Nike “Moon Shoes” made for the Olympic Trials in 1972 – only 12 pairs were produced in total.
Elsewhere in the auction, Travis ScottThe Air Jordans will be available exclusively as friends and family exclusives rather than to the general public, with prices starting at $15,000.
But the highlight is a pair of Back to the Future Nike Mag shoes from 2011 and 2016.
The shoe debuted in the 1989 sequel Back to the Future II and was an instant hit with audiences for its futuristic looks and functionality.
Due to overwhelming demand, Nike released 1,500 pairs of the 2011 design to the public to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
The 2016 model features an adaptive fit signature response system that senses the wearer and tightens or loosens the sneaker based on size – bringing the cult-favorite design from the movie to life.
The 2011 high-top sneakers are expected to sell for more than $10,000, and the 2016 models are expected to cost $20,000.
The auction was chaired by financier Miles Nadal, who said: “Assembling the Dare to Dream collection has been a huge passion project from the beginning, bringing together the very best in the automotive and sneaker worlds. It’s such an honor to be brought together.”
As well as a stunning collection of sneakers, car enthusiasts will also be bidding on a number of items at the auction, including a car featured in the James Bond film Goldfinger.

The “Big Five” cars alone are expected to cost $19 million.
All Ferraris, 288 GTOs, F40s, F50s, Enzos and LaFerraris are included for a total value of over $20.25 million.
The most expensive car in the collection, and indeed in the entire auction, was a 1996 Ferrari F50, which sold for between $3.8 million and $4.5 million.
Other notable cars include a 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 that once belonged to Simon Cowell and is expected to sell for $1.75 million.
RM Sotheby’s will hold an auction in downtown Toronto, Canada, from May 31st to June 1st.
