Vaccination campaign against coronavirus and influenza in Asturias

Asturias has started a joint vaccination campaign against influenza and COVID-19 that will last until the end of the season. As a novel activity, during the event newborns and infants will be immunized against respiratory syncytial virus, a leading cause of bronchiolitis and respiratory infections in children under one year of age and adults. The goal is to reach approximately 4,500 people.

According to the Principality of Asturias, the joint vaccination program started in nursing homes on October 2 and was extended to other target groups in a decentralized and free manner in all primary health centers on October 9.
