The Sixteenth Program Area Headquarters updated and trained vaccinators and nurses from Freeport, Vanda, and Puerto Esperanza, who function in their respective CAPS and hospitals. Its goal is to advance the prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, rubella, polio, hepatitis B, and others.
Training by Mgter. Silvia Correa, head of immunization for the region, explained the indications and contraindications for each vaccine, recruitment strategies, monitoring of target populations, and protocols for vaccine administration and storage.
Graciela Toledo, Head of Program Area Sixteen, accompanied the training and emphasized the importance of strengthening the work of vaccinators and nurses in the region.
The update training of vaccination personnel is part of the coordinated actions carried out by the Provincial Department of Health and various cities and project areas, aiming to ensure the vaccination of the whole people and protect people’s health.
