The fifth festival dedicated to short films will take place from 11 to 15 July 2023 between Fluminimaggiore, Buggerru and Iglesias.
L’Andaras Traveling Film Festival It may be a small event, but it is special for several reasons. We at Comingsoon.it were there last year and saw first-hand the magnificent natural scenery of the Costa delle Miniere on which it is located, and also experienced first-hand the enthusiasm, passion and competence of the team of young people who organize it.
It is therefore with great pleasure that we announce its fifth edition, which will take place from 11 to 15 July among the historical places of the city Fluminimaggiore AND Buggerruand a new entry Iglesias.
Dedicated to the cinema of short journeys, but at the same time with great attention to the discovery of territory, cultures and local communities,Andaras Traveling Film Festival finds its uniqueness in the ability to stimulate minds and make Sardinia known through a refined international cinematic proposal, with guests and debates on important social issues of rights and the environment, as well as to engage on an emotional level all who participate in the festival with the experience of immersing in the undeniable natural beauty of the territory Sardinia.
Andaras returns in 2023 with a program full of new features, characterized by lightness and essentiality: the title of this year’s edition will actually be “Travel light”and travel light at a time Andaras Traveling Film Festival this year they will, among other things, Valentina Lodoviniwho will be the chairman of the competition jury and special guest Matteo Martariwho intervenes along with the entire cast and crew of the film Girls don’t cry directed by Andrea Zuliani.
“Viaggiare Leggeri” – the title of this publication – is an invitation to freedom of movement without restrictions, taking with you only what is necessary, leaving at home the burden that chains us to the present, sometimes too threatening.
Over the course of five evenings at sunset, screenings of the competition films will be preceded by meetings with artists, actors, photographers, directors, reporters, managers as part of an ongoing exchange of experiences with those who have put this topic in the spotlight. your creative career while traveling.
We start on July 11th with Massimo Sestini, award-winning author of the famous aerial photograph of a boat full of migrants in the summer of 2014, a symbol of the migrant crisis in the Mediterranean. A photojournalist opens an exhibition dedicated to him. Ten of Sestini’s photographs, some of the most valuable, are exhibited in the streets of Fluminimaggiore, where they remain displayed throughout the year, testifying to 40 years of history of the customs, politics and society of our country.
It continues on July 12 at San Nicolò beach in Buggerru, where Live music from Fabio Tallo, Sardinian artist, author of authentic soundscapes. Audio creations that begin by capturing the sounds of the environment, city and nature are remastered and recorded in the new EP “Scisto” from Wild Drone Music.

The jury will award prizes to the winning entries from the 27 entries divided into six different categories:
1. “Super Short Films”
both feature and documentary short films with a duration of no more than 180 seconds;
2. “Documentaries”
non-fiction short films no longer than 20 minutes;
3. “Narrative Short Films”
dedicated to short feature films with a maximum duration of 20 minutes;
4. “Views of the World”
the Freestyle category, dedicated to experimental, fictional and documentary short films with a maximum duration of 15 minutes;
5. “Animation”
short animated films no more than 15 minutes long;
6. “Andaras Noas” (New Paths)
is dedicated to fictional stories of a maximum of 20 minutes, depicting new beginnings and moments before a new journey.
