Veracruz recorded its first fatality for COVID-19


The state of Veracruz recorded this Sunday its first death due to the COVID-19, as announced by the Secretariat of Health of the state.

“In our report of 7 pm has been confirmed, unfortunately, the death of a person in Veracruz by COVID-19,” said Dulce María Espejo Guevara, head of Department of state Epidemiological Surveillance, in a recording.

It’s about a person who resided in Tlacotalpan.

“This situation hurts us because it is inevitable that the pandemic is spreading and there are deaths all over the world, but what is not inevitable is that we reduce the risks and to decrease the transmission speed at the precise moment”, he added in the video released in the social networks of dependence.

Up to this Sunday have confirmed 26 cases of people with COVID-19 in the state, who reside in Boca del Rio, Veracruz, Poza Rica, Ixtaczoquitlán, Jalapa, Fortin, Coatzacoalcos, Tlacotalpan.

Of these cases, 46 percent are men and 54 women, with ages between 21 and 74 years.
